This includes diagnosis and treatment of a broad scope of medical illnesses as well as recognition and referral of psychological and major medical and surgical illnesses. Counseling with regard to health promotion and disease prevention. May supervise, teach and evaluate students and other medical staff. Although the scope of their duties varies, many nurse practitioners work independently prescribe medications and order laboratory tests. All nurse practitioners consult with physicians and other health professionals when needed.Primary Function of Organizational Unit - The mission of Student Health Center is to provide physical, psychological, environmental and wellness services to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University students, facility, and staff. Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong customer service focus, and strong problem solving skills.
