Maintenance Technician

This is a hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting role supporting a unique industrial job-shop environment with approximately 11 overhead cranes and roughly 100 additional pieces of equipment used in steel fabrication, manual machining, heavy-equipment repair and other industrial work.

The Maintenance Technician keeps equipment and facility systems operational through troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance while determining when specialized outside support is appropriate.

Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability are the priorities. The employer does not expect one person to be an expert in every system. The right candidate should be comfortable diagnosing mechanical problems, learning unfamiliar equipment and taking ownership of repairs. Electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic experience is valuable, but gaps can be supplemented by experienced internal employees and outside specialists.

Day-to-day work may include troubleshooting overhead cranes, plate rolls and other production equipment; repairing hand tools; researching parts; working with equipment manufacturers/vendors; documenting maintenance activity; and completing routine facility maintenance.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful and able to work independently while also leveraging experienced team members when needed.

Typical schedule is approximately 7:30 AM-4:00 PM. Occasional evening, weekend or overtime work may be required for planned maintenance or urgent equipment downtime. Schedule flexibility may be available after the initial 90-day period. Job 59407

Salary: $25?$35/hr DOE. OT after 40 hrs. Performance bonus possible. Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.
