Responsibilities

The Governance team builds a thriving, safe, and fair marketplace ecosystem on TikTok Shop — shaping the policies, programs, and risk controls that help sellers and creators grow responsibly. As a Governance Intern, you'll work on real projects with the [Region] team and get first‑hand exposure to how a global platform designs and enforces its rules at scale, including with AI.

Examples of what you'll work on:

• Assist in research on market regulations, industry practices, and emerging risks.
• Support data checks and analysis to monitor governance metrics and identify trends or root causes
• Help review real cases to surface insights that inform policy and enforcement improvements
• Support AI‑assisted governance workflows: e.g. helping test prompts and evaluate the quality of AI‑assisted outcomes
• Help prepare documentation, reporting, and cross‑team communication for governance programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Law/Public Policy, or related fields.
• Able to commit to a full‑time internship of at least 3 months (please state your availability in your resume)
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; comfortable working with data
• Proactive, curious, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Comfort using AI tools in daily work is a plus; SQL/Python is a plus
