Respiratory Therapist (RT) - Neonatal

RRT NICU

Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the following day, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Year's Eve & New Year's Day. Weekends required as needed by the unit. Travelers are expected to work no more than 3 consecutive weekends.

Assignment Details

Contract length: 13 weeks. Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week, with the facility allowed to call off 3 times during the assignment.

Requirements

• New Mexico License
• RRT certification
• BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications
• 2 years of NICU experience required
• Level I Trauma experience
• Skills: Endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, nasal airway placement/suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy suctioning, pulmonary toileting, ABG interpretation

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care for neonatal patients.
• Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status.
• Perform endotracheal intubation and extubation when necessary.
• Administer respiratory therapies as ordered by physicians.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
• Document all patient care and procedures in the medical record.

Compliance / Notes

COVID vaccine is optional, but documentation is required if vaccinated. Locals within 100 miles are not accepted. RTO requests greater than 7 days need approval.
