CHIEF OF STAFF | AI-NATIVE HEALTHCARE OPERATIONS

San Francisco | $140K–$220K

THE SHORT VERSION

This company builds AI agents that get patients access to life-saving therapies — automating the prior authorizations, appeals, reimbursement research, and coverage determination that stand between a patient and treatment. The agents already process billions of dollars in therapies a year across all 50 states.

You'd be the Chief of Staff to the CEO and co-founder — the force multiplier who turns strategy into execution and keeps a fast-scaling company aligned around what actually matters. This is a seat on the leadership team, not an admin function.

Founded out of the Stanford AI Lab, the company combines frontier AI with deep healthcare expertise to solve one of healthcare's biggest operational problems: getting patients the care they need, faster. It works with leading healthcare organizations to cut administrative burden and speed up access to treatment at scale.

Backed by Altos Ventures, Y Combinator, General Catalyst, Telesoft Partners, and executives from Google and Salesforce. Revenue has scaled rapidly over the past year, with footprint expanding across specialty healthcare markets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Drive strategy and planning — Partner with the founding team to define and operationalize company strategy. Lead quarterly and annual planning: goal-setting, prioritization, resource allocation, KPIs, budgeting, and headcount. Serve as a thought partner to the CEO on the highest-stakes calls.
• Own the operating cadence — Design and run leadership meetings, strategic reviews, roadmap reviews, all-hands, and planning sessions. Set agendas, facilitate, document decisions, drive follow-through.
• Provide leverage across the company — Take work off the CEO's plate and drive it to completion independently. Prep the leadership team for board meetings, investor conversations, and key customer engagements. Lead board materials, investor updates, and executive comms. Catch problems before they need to escalate.
• Lead cross-functional execution — Own high-impact initiatives that don't have a natural home. Build the systems and decision-making frameworks that let the org keep scaling.
• Strengthen the org — Partner with functional leaders on team effectiveness, culture, and change management. Eventually build and lead a small, highly-leveraged Business Operations team.

WHAT GETS YOU HIRED

• 3+ years in strategy, business operations, management consulting, investing, operating leadership, or Chief of Staff work
• Track record working closely with senior executives and leadership teams
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to connect long-term vision to daily execution
• Excellent project management across complex, cross-functional initiatives
• Outstanding written and verbal communication
• Sound judgment operating independently with sensitive information
• Comfortable with metrics, planning processes, and performance management

Nice to have

• Experience at an early-stage, high-growth AI-native startup
• Background in consulting, PE, VC, or investment banking
• Track record building early-stage processes and operating rhythms from scratch
• History as a trusted advisor to founders or senior execs
