CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Sanford, FL

Compensation:

• Pay Range: $34.85 – $49.06/hr. (Based on Experience) + Benefits
• $10,000 Sign-On Bonus
• On-call pay: $4.00/hr
• Time-and-a-half pay when called in

Schedule Information

• Full-Time Day Shift
• Rotating weekends required
• On-call required (approximately 10–15 call shifts per month)
• Must be able to report within 30 minutes when on-call
• Additional on-call details discussed during interview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) to join the cardiovascular surgical team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative, high-acuity surgical environment supporting open-heart and cardiovascular procedures at a respected Center.

This role is ideal for an experienced perioperative nurse who thrives in fast-paced surgical settings and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess patients prior to cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Prepare patients for surgery including IV therapy, pre-op medications, and surgical site verification
• Assist with perioperative care during cardiovascular and open-heart surgeries
• Monitor patient condition throughout the perioperative process and respond to emergencies appropriately
• Participate in surgical safety protocols including briefing, time-outs, debriefings, and universal protocols
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care while maintaining patient safety standards
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatment plans, and post-operative care
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Support workflow efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives within the operating room
• Float to the general OR on days without open-heart cases

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Acute Care CVOR RN experience REQUIRED
• Recent experience supporting cardiovascular/open -heart surgical procedures REQUIRED
• Active Florida RN License or Compact RN License REQUIRED
• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma REQUIRED
• BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS Certification required within 6 months of hire
• PALS or ENPC Certification required within 6 months of hire
• Strong critical thinking and perioperative nursing skills REQUIRED
