Come explore Novanta.As an Assembler I, you will be responsible for assembling and testing components to create finished products. You will collaborate with your team to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety in the production process. Reading and interpreting assembly instructions, technical drawings and schematics.Primary ResponsibilitiesAble to read, understand, and adhere to work instructions, BOMs, and assembly drawingsUsage of hand tools properly and safelyMechanical assembly of product within acceptable quality and output levelsSoldering of cables, wires and through hole devices within acceptable quality limitsInspect product and properly identify non-conformancesProperly operate pass/fail test equipment (ALTF, PD Test, etc.)Cleanliness and workstation clean up through 5S standardsGeneral TasksStrict compliance with the quality, occupational safety, and environmental regulations.Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialistRequired Experience, Education, Skills, Training and CompetenciesTeam player with strong computer, written, verbal and skillsPrevious experience with opto-electronics and PCB commodities,Working experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma environmentsFamiliar and knowledgeable with QMS standards (ie: ISO 9001)Basic knowledge and practice of ESD and 5S principlesSafety and chemical awarenessPreferred - IPC solder requirements verified (Consistently meet IPC requirements; tested per IPC610 requirements)Travel RequirementsNonePhysical RequirementsNoneCompensation and BenefitsThe base pay for this position is $18.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on the geographic market.Novanta is proud to be an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action workplace.
