Step into an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher supporting 6th graders for the 2026-27 school year. You'll work closely with a manageable caseload of 12-14 students, creating a nurturing classroom atmosphere where every learner can thrive. This contract position offers you the opportunity to make a positive, lasting difference in the lives of middle school students while collaborating with dedicated professionals.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working in middle or upper elementary grades preferred
- Strong understanding of designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Skilled in delivering differentiated instruction and providing targeted interventions
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Collaborative approach to working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and educational growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver specially designed instruction to support diverse learning needs
- Implement effective interventions tailored to individual student goals
- Conduct, lead, and document IEP meetings with parents, staff, and service providers
- Maintain open, ongoing communication with families and school staff
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adapt teaching approaches as needed
- Foster a positive, engaging classroom environment that builds student confidence and independence
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student success and share best practices
