Job Description:-

This role complements the API automation effort by building out UI-level automated functional testing for the DDS/FedLine application suite, targeting 50% automation of critical UI test cases. The role requires the same Java foundation as the API automation role, since much of the UI framework work happens in the same codebase and IDE.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute **UI functional tests using Selenium or Playwright** (Java-based)
• Automate critical UI test cases focused on real user interactions and workflows, with FRFS determining final scope of the 50% target
• Design and set up test scripts and test environments for optimal coverage
• Integrate automated UI tests with existing reporting and monitoring tools
• Validate UI functionality, usability, and performance through iterative test runs
• Code and troubleshoot Java daily; build configurable, maintainable, reusable test components
• Participate in design/review sessions to keep test plans aligned to business requirements
• Assist with setup and maintenance of test environments
• Support manual testers and help triage which manual UI test cases should move to automation
• Participate in production deployment testing and remediation support

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on **Java development** experience, using **IntelliJ IDE** and **Maven**
• Proven experience automating UI tests with **Selenium or Playwright**
• Experience with manual test tools such as **HP ALM or Xray**
• Ability to design test automation architecture for complex, multi-workflow UIs
• Ability to work independently and integrate quickly into an existing test framework

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with Fedwire applications, particularly Securities
• Experience testing internal enterprise or B2B financial platforms (rather than consumer-facing UIs)
• Exposure to test reporting/monitoring tool integration (e.g., dashboards tied to CI pipelines)

Why This Role Is Challenging

• UI automation must be built to hold up under real-world usability and performance validation, not just pass/fail scripting
• Like the API role, scope is refined collaboratively with FRFS rather than fully fixed upfront
• Will need to coordinate closely with the API automation engineer to avoid duplicated effort and ensure consistent frameworks/reporting
