Purchasing Coordinator (Hybrid) Bolingbrook, IL

About The Role The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for processing incoming stock inventory with accuracy and efficiency, maintaining the warehouse truck schedule, handling inventory adjustments and transactions, providing accounting documentation to process vendor invoices, ensuring the warehouse has necessary documentation to process shipments and working with management and vendors to resolve potential issues. A successful candidate will be self‑motivated, results‑driven, and have a proven ability to analyze and extract actionable information from large amounts of data. They must foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders and understand the end‑to‑end supply chain. This position reports to the Purchasing Supervisor in the Purchasing Department. What You Will Do Process inbound stock shipments for assigned mills within 24 hours. Perform landed cost calculations. Reconcile invoice discrepancies. Provide documentation to Accounts Payable. Assist Accounting with auditing questions and pending credits/unpaid invoices. Ensure EDI documents are received. Identify and communicate compliance issues with Vendor, Demand Planner, and Purchasing Supervisor. Issue vendor and freight claims. Conduct daily cycle counts. Post inventory and cycle count adjustments. Maintain truck schedule and ASN queue. Collaborate with team members and communicate relevant information to leadership. Uphold security and confidentiality of proprietary S&S information. Perform all other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For High school diploma or associates degree (preferred). 1+ year related experience in inventory to accounting. Or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. Advanced analytical skills with demonstrated success organizing, analyzing, and accurately interpreting large amounts of data. Demonstrated ability to build trust and facilitate consensus among cross‑functional teams. Ability to prioritize workload to best accomplish tasks and positively impact performance metrics. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and other relevant data analysis methods. Ability to manage through complexities to identify solutions and deliver results. Extensive attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines at times. Strong communication skills. Ability to work independently or within a group.
