Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist (OT) for the Therapy/Rehabilitation Inpatient Rehab unit provides specialized acute care and skilled nursing therapy services to patients in an acute hospital setting. The role involves delivering therapeutic interventions to support patient recovery and functional independence. The OT collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring high-quality care in a fast-paced, magnet-designated, level II trauma facility. This position requires at least one year of experience, active BLS and NBCOT certifications, and a valid Alaska OT license. Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services to inpatients in acute care and skilled nursing settings.
• Assess patient functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and other therapists.
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate records using Epic charting system.
• Participate in patient care planning and discharge planning processes.
• Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Maintain professional certifications and licensure.

• Active BLS certification.
• Current NBCOT certification.
• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Alaska.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant occupational therapy experience.
• Ability to use Epic electronic medical record system.
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

• Experience in acute care or inpatient rehabilitation settings.
• Familiarity with trauma and magnet hospital environments.
• Additional certifications related to rehabilitation therapy.

• On-call is not required.
• Must work 2 weekend days per month.
• Time off requests (RTO) are approved individually and must be submitted with application.
• Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
• Block scheduling accommodations are not available.
• Scrubs and parking are provided at no cost.

• Work schedule options include 4x10 or 5x8 day shifts.
• With 4x10 schedules, consistent three-day weekends off cannot be guaranteed but efforts will be made to provide a consistent schedule.
• Primary coverage needs are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
