Job Summary Mass General Brigham Heart and Vascular Institute offers expert care in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease, including general cardiology, interventional cardiology, heart failure, electrophysiology, while working collaboratively with specialized teams to support device management and anticoagulation care. We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to be predominantly based in our Dover, NH cardiology practice (19 Old Rollinsford Road), while this role is primarily assigned to Dover, the MA may be required to float to our Somersworth and Portsmouth locations based on clinical and staffing needs. Monday through Friday, with a rotating biweekly schedule of 7:30am–4:00pm and 8:30am–5:00pm. This is our highest-volume cardiology site, adjacent to the hospital campus, supporting a fast-paced, collaborative clinical environment with early/late team coverage models. The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting efficient patient flow and high patient throughput, with an average site volume of 40–60 patients per day. The position requires strong organization, adaptability, and teamwork to meet the needs of a busy and complex ambulatory cardiology practice. The Medical Assistant supports providers through both clinical and administrative responsibilities, including patient rooming, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), chart preparation, prescription refill support, results management, and assisting with patient flow and care coordination. A strong emphasis is placed on EKG testing, which is performed during approximately 75-85% of all patient visits, as well as accurate vital sign assessment, recognition of abnormal findings, and timely escalation of clinical concerns to the appropriate clinical team member. This role participates in structured onboarding with a preceptor model and rotating early/late orientation schedule. ________________________________________ Essential Functions (Highlights) •Room patients and prepare exam rooms in a fast-paced cardiology setting •Obtain vital signs, EKGs, complete a medication reconciliation, and document accurately in the EHR •Support medication refills and patient follow-up coordination •Assist with high-volume clinic flow and provider support •Participate in clinical huddles and flexible provider assignments •Recognize clinical changes and escalate appropriately •Support patient education and care coordination Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting preferred Experience 1–2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical/medical office setting required Experience in a fast-paced outpatient or specialty clinic is strongly preferred Licensure & Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or equivalent national certification) preferred What You Bring to the Role We’re looking for someone who thrives in a busy clinical environment and enjoys working as part of a collaborative care team.
