About the Position

Epic experience required. Float requirement included. Weekend coverage required every other week. Description: Ensure awareness of possible assignment to an "Emergency Team" by the unit manager. There is an expectation to remain in the facility during emergency events while being part of the relief team. Specific details regarding pay will be communicated during each emergency event. This role involves caring for patients with various oncology diagnoses. Patient population includes hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplant, gynecologic oncology, and surgical oncology. The unit comprises a 7-bed positive pressure wing for bone marrow transplant and acute leukemia patients. Key responsibilities include bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies. Familiarity with equipment such as Alaris IV pumps, barcode medication administration, and SCD machines is expected. New hires are encouraged to have experience managing chemotherapy and administering blood products. A strong foundation in medical/surgical nursing and telemetry is beneficial. Team collaboration with interdisciplinary support services is essential. Candidates should be comfortable with isolation precautions and PPE as part of patient safety protocols. This position requires proficiency in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing nursing interventions accordingly. Openness to adapting to various patient care situations is important for this role.
