Patient Services Specialist

Expected pay for this position is $21.93 - $25.80/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position. Overview This position supports pharmacy services at OSF Home Infusion Pharmacy in Peoria, IL. Position Summary The Patient Service Specialist is responsible for receiving new referrals and accurately initiating paperwork and computer admission. Provides direct assistance and support to pharmacists and reimbursement staff. Participates in licensed pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. Interacts with patients, home care staff, and physicians to coordinate and perform patient supply management. Qualifications Required Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Licensure/Certifications: Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License and active National Pharmacy Technician Board Certification. Score 70% or better on Aseptic Preparation of Parenteral Products and Safe Handling of Cytoxic and Hazardous Drugs competency tests within 90-day evaluation period. Valid driver's license. Provides own transportation and auto insurance and abides by all laws, rules and recommendations for safe driving while on duty. Ability to use and operate medical and/or office equipment. Experience working with government and accrediting agency officials. Interpersonal skills for effective verbal and written communication. Preferred Qualifications One year of intravenous admixture compounding experience. Four years recent acute-care hospital intravenous admixture experience OR three years home infusion PSS experience (or similar job duties elsewhere) OR two years OSF HIP PSS experience.
