The Group Leader will collaborate with other departments to support the annual operating plan, manage personnel planning and scheduling, and facilitate new product launches, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives and maintaining a high-performance work environment.**Key Responsibilities:**- Direct Supervision and Oversight: Lead and manage Team Leaders and Associates to ensure seamless operation of the production area, maintaining high standards in productivity, safety, quality, and compliance with standardized operating procedures. - Strategic Planning and Budget Management: Develop and execute an annual operating plan aligned with corporate objectives, managing capital and expense budgets while holding accountability for meeting financial commitments. - Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Drive and spearhead improvement projects focused on quality enhancement, cost reduction, and safety through root cause analysis and lean manufacturing principles, fostering a culture of continuous innovation. - Training and Development: Identify training needs and implement effective learning and development programs for production team members, cultivating skills necessary for both current roles and future leadership opportunities. - Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to support new product launches and ensure cohesive operations, leveraging departmental synergies to enhance overall organizational performance. - Problem Solving and Decision Making: Utilize critical thinking and reasoning skills to diagnose operational issues, develop strategic solutions, and implement corrective actions, maintaining operational efficiency and workforce morale. - Safety and Compliance Management: Champion safety protocols and compliance standards, proactively addressing and resolving safety concerns to uphold a safe work environment and reduce risks. - Communication and Team Facilitation: Establish clear communication channels with team leaders and members, ensuring expectations are understood and promptly addressing any operational impediments to maintain smooth workflows.**Direct Manager Direct Reports:** Reporting Structure: The Group Leader in the SRS Building Products production area reports directly to the Plant Manager or equivalent senior management position, depending on organizational hierarchy. This role plays a crucial role in the management team, facilitating communication between the production floor and upper management. Direct Reports: The Group Leader directly supervises Team Leaders and Associates within the production area. This involves overseeing their daily tasks, providing leadership, and ensuring departmental goals are met efficiently. The Group Leader is responsible for ensuring that all direct reports adhere to company policies and procedures, and for their ongoing development through training and mentorship. The role also requires coordination with other Group Leaders to maintain operational consistency across shifts.**Travel Requirements:**The Group Leader at SRS Building Products is required to travel occasionally to various company locations to oversee production operations and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.**Physical Requirements:**The Group Leader position at SRS Building Products is primarily based in a manufacturing environment with occasional office-based tasks. Experience: - A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. - Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience strongly preferred. - Demonstrated ability to operate manufacturing equipment and processes, with prior experience in machine troubleshooting and repair. Skills and Competencies: - Strong leadership ability to influence others and make informed decisions. - Proficient in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. - Ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving goals. - Competence in reading and interpreting complex technical documents and mechanical blueprints. - Proficient in problem-solving using statistical and root cause analysis tools. - Strong mechanical aptitude with the capability to apply mechanical principles effectively. - Familiarity with production control in mass-production environments. - Ability to adapt to changing environments and demonstrate flexibility with new ideas. - Competence in organizing tasks systematically and executing them accurately. - Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective information dissemination. - Capacity to work independently and proactively address and solve work-related problems. Technical Proficiencies: - Ability to operate computerized equipment and familiarity with PC applications. - Willingness and ability to attend training sessions to enhance technical knowledge. Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership roles in a manufacturing setting, with over five (5) years of experience leading teams in high-volume, industrial environments. 3. Lean Manufacturing Expertise: Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, with proven experience in implementing lean principles and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. 4. Technical Proficiency: Extensive background in computerized numerical control (CNC) machinery, with demonstrated expertise in advanced machine tool technologies. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software is an asset. 5. Project Management Skills: Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from inception to completion, including cross-functional coordination and stakeholder engagement. 6. Change Management: Skilled in leading organizational change initiatives, with experience in developing strategic plans to foster a culture of continuous improvement. 7. Safety and Quality Acumen: Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality management systems (QMS), with experience in implementing strict safety protocols and quality assurance measures. 8. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exemplary communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and foster effective teamwork and collaboration. 9. Problem Solving and Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical capabilities, with experience in applying statistical and root cause analysis tools to identify and solve production issues. 10.
