Senior Scientist I - BDL Modeling

Senior Scientist I will join a centralized modeling team developing computational models for biopharmaceutical manufacturing across multiple modalities. The role involves building process models, integrating artificial intelligence tools, and collaborating cross-functionally to support bioprocess scale-up and technology transfer.
Responsibilities
- Independently develop and apply fit-for-purpose models for cell culture and purification processes at multiple development stages
- Translate scientific and business challenges into modeling strategies that optimize processes and guide scale-up activities
- Advance modeling capabilities by integrating artificial intelligence tools to accelerate development and implementation
- Author modeling-related technical and regulatory documents, publications, and presentations for project teams and leadership
- Support model transfer, lifecycle management, implementation, and fitness-for-purpose assessments per GxP standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years experience, or Master's degree with 8 years, or PhD with 0-2 years
- Background in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, or biotechnology
- Experience in both upstream cell culture and downstream purification process development
- Demonstrated expertise in CFD modeling, cell culture kinetics, chromatography modeling, or filtration theory
- Familiarity with AI tool development and integration into bioprocess ecosystems
- Strong technical communication skills and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Problem-solving capability and proven project execution and delivery track record
