Payment Processing Specialist (Contract)
Pay: $23.00-$26.00/hour

 
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

 
Assignment Length: Approximately 6 weeks with potential for extension.
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Payment Processor to join a busy financial operations team. This temporary opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong data entry skills and experience handling high-volume financial transactions.

 
Responsibilities

• Process daily consumer payments accurately and efficiently.
• Sort and distribute incoming payments and correspondence.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Post checks and money orders to customer accounts.
• Reconcile payment batches and resolve balancing issues.
• Process returned payments and related account adjustments.
• Manage department email communications and transaction requests.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and financial information.
• Provide support across multiple payment processing functions as needed.

 
Qualifications

• Excellent data entry and keyboarding skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Previous experience in payment processing, cash application, banking, accounts receivable, lockbox processing, or a similar financial operations environment preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and ability to maintain a consistent work schedule.

 
Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Additional education in Accounting, Finance, or Business is a plus.
