Assistant Branch Manager - Coral Springs, FL

Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) is a key member of the branch team responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in the overall management of the branch. The ABM supports efforts to maximize revenue, sales, customer satisfaction, minimize operational losses, ensure compliance, deepen existing relationships, and reduce customer attrition. Responsibilities Assist the Branch Manager in leading the branch to achieve sales goals, including outbound calling, sales meetings, and coaching. Supervise designated staff members in their daily performance of assigned tasks and make decisions on personnel matters such as employment, performance ratings, promotions, salary, transfers, and termination. Serve customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially according to the South State Bank Gold Service Standards. Perform all functions of SR FSR. Open new deposit accounts and explain financial services, including features, benefits, rules, regulations, pricing, and a simple definition of each service. Handle services such as stop payments, wire transfers, and other maintenance functions within assigned limits. Process all loan applications within lending authority, extending credit to qualified individuals and businesses through installment, commercial, and real estate products. Assist in the collection of delinquent loans. Manage loan and deposit exceptions within the parameters expected by South State Bank, both individually and for the branch. Ensure branch security procedures are followed and operate security devices to protect the facility against criminal and fraudulent activity. Provide leadership in all areas by setting an example for the staff to follow and personify good customer relations, effective selling, and cross‑selling. Resolve routine personnel problems. Assist tellers in accurate balancing of daily work, researching differences, and making necessary adjustments. Resolve customer problems and complaints with courtesy and discretion, explaining policies and procedures as needed. Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, including Regulation CC and the Bank Secrecy Act. Ensure an adequate supply of money is available for daily bank transactions. Maintain adequate inventory of branch supplies. Conduct self‑audits using the Branch Internal Control Review on a quarterly basis. Present a neat and professional appearance and orderly work area. Develop and maintain a sales‑culture environment. Stay proficient in customer‑facing technology and enroll customers in self‑service options. Accept other duties as assigned. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as Customer Service/Sales/Branch Manager, with strong organizational skills. Previous supervisory experience. Strong PC skills and proficiency in banking systems. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Excellent leadership, communication, planning, and organizational skills. Good decision‑making skills, excellent writing skills, training and oral presentation skills. Customer service orientation, initiative, excellent interpersonal skills. Good computer skills and ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. Work Environment Position is most likely in an open lobby area with an individual workstation or private office. Workplace is inside a cooled and heated facility with access to a break room or restroom during breaks. Travel Travel may be required to attend meetings and training as needed.
