Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on the night shift. This is an opportunity to provide essential winter coverage for an 18-week duration, with a possibility of a 13-week commitment as well.

Position Details

• Shift: Night shift, 3 - 12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Minimum Experience: 18 months of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry required.
• License Requirements: Must possess a permanent Ohio license or a compact state license in hand.
• Certifications: American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Charting Experience: Recent Epic charting experience within the last 6 months is mandatory.
• References: One recent professional reference from a manager, Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), supervisor, or director in the relevant specialty is required.
• Holidays: Must be willing to work at least every other holiday.

Orientation Requirements

During orientation, travelers must complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and a safeMedicate assessment, achieving acceptable scores on both tests. Two attempts will be allowed to pass; otherwise, cancellation will occur.

Compliance and Drug Screening

• All applicants must provide a negative 10-panel drug screen, including nicotine, conducted within 12 months prior to the start date.
• Nurses and CSTs are temporarily exempt from Nicotine Free Facility Requirements.
• Background check results will be reviewed, and any open cases or license hits will result in disqualification.

Extension and Contract Information

Candidates may extend their contracts for an additional 18 months. After this period, there will be a required 6-month break. The client may, on a case-by-case basis, choose to defer this break.

Competency Requirements

Nursing candidates who maintain a continuous contract for a minimum of one year, or who return for subsequent contracts in the following calendar year, are required to complete annual hands-on competency training if they attended orientation in the prior year. Failure to complete this requirement will result in removal from the schedule until compliance is achieved.

Training Modules

• Four hours of annual training modules are billable.
• Additional pre-start module time is non-billable, typically requiring 6-15 hours.
• Modules must be completed pre-start and annually, with time requirements varying by specialty.
