No Offer Description The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa announces an open competition for the position of: Assistant Professor (Research and Teaching) (full-time position under an employment contract) at the Institute of Literary Studies , Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa, within the field of Humanities , discipline of Literary Studies , specialising in English Literary Studies . Language of instruction: English Requirements Research Field Literature » European literature Education Level PhD or equivalent Skills/Qualifications The position may be offered to a candidate who: holds at least a PhD degree in Humanities in the discipline of Literary Studies; demonstrates academic achievements contributing to the development of the discipline, including: a significant research record in Literary Studies, including scholarly articles published in international or national academic journals; experience in applying, as Principal Investigator, for externally funded research or artistic projects within the meaning of the Act; organisational achievements, including participation in organising conferences and academic or artistic events relevant to the development of Literary Studies; experience in organising or participating in various forms of international academic cooperation; a positive evaluation of teaching performance confirmed by the relevant Vice-Dean for Education and Student Affairs, or documented teaching competencies relevant to the discipline and higher education teaching. Specific Requirements Candidates should also: hold an academic degree in Humanities in the discipline of Literary Studies; possess documented scholarly achievements in Literary Studies; demonstrate strong commitment to teaching, organisational activities and academic outreach; experience in designing or co-creating university study programmes will be considered an advantage; have a good command of English; be fully available to fulfil the duties associated with the position. In justified cases, the Rector may decide to waive certain requirements, taking into account the candidate’s qualifications, their contribution to the development of the represented discipline, and their relevance to the University’s research policy. Applicants are required to submit: a) an application addressed to the Rector; b) a personal information questionnaire (Appendix No. 4) – for first-time employment at the University; c) a certified copy of the PhD diploma (or higher degree); d) a list of academic, artistic, teaching and organisational achievements (Appendix No. 5); e) a declaration stating that Jan Długosz University is, or will become upon employment, the applicant’s primary place of employment (Appendix No. 6); f) a declaration indicating the academic field and discipline (Appendix No. 7); g) a declaration concerning inclusion in the University’s research staff number ("N") (Appendix No. 8); h) a declaration confirming that the candidate: has not been subject to disciplinary penalties, has full legal capacity, has no criminal record (Appendix No. 9). Additional documents required under the Act of 13 May 2016 on Counteracting Sexual Crime and Protecting Minors At the application stage: acknowledgement of the obligation to submit the required documents before signing the employment contract (Appendix No. 10). For the successful candidate (before signing the employment contract): a certificate from the National Criminal Register covering all relevant records; for foreign nationals – the information or declaration specified in Appendix No. 10; for persons who have resided outside Poland during the last 20 years – the information or declaration specified in Appendix No. 11; acknowledgement that the University will verify the candidate in the Register of Sexual Offenders in accordance with the Rector’s Internal Regulation No. R021.1.67.2024, as amended; consent to the processing of personal data (Appendix No. 12). Additional credit will be given for a list of scholarly publications planned to be affiliated with Jan Długosz University, together with the intended publication venues. Languages ENGLISH Level Excellent Research Field Literature » European literature Years of Research Experience 4 - 10 Additional Information Employment Conditions The University offers: full-time employment under a fixed-term employment contract; a basic monthly salary of not less than PLN 7,045 , in accordance with Appendix II to the Remuneration Regulations of Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa.
