A movement for better thinking, smarter solutions and lasting impact.Together, we will advance our way of life and protect the integrity of our environment every step of the way.As a Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for producing accurate job-cost accounting reports, monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results, preparing, and reviewing client invoicing and project setup, budgeting activities, and other duties assigned by the Controller. The ideal candidate is a problem solver, both big picture and detailed oriented, focused on identifying opportunities/problems and providing solutions.The compensation range for this role is $110,000 to $140,000, in addition to an annual bonus (12%), commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.To thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:Assists the Controller with day-to-day operations of the Accounting/Finance DepartmentJob cost accounting for multiple projectsPrepares monthly reports on project status, including budget and forecasting for WIPCreates and maintains project level accounts and task budgets.Coordinates with project team on change order tracking and billing.Project accounting and reconciliationWork with Project Managers in a variety of disciplinesReview subcontracts, purchase orders and Subcontractor change orders to ensure accurate postingEnsure that the subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors account balances are correct and reconciledProject setup, billing terms and contract managementManagement of sub-consultants and relevant contractsInvoice preparation and coordination with Project ManagersAct as liaison between Subcontractors and Project Team and AccountingTimesheet and expense processingMaintains confidentiality at all timesExercises safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programsParticipates in the company's continuous improvement programs and provides support to team effortsKeeps up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshopsPerforms other duties as assignedYour Expertise and SkillsThese requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.Bachelors' degree in Accounting (preferably in Architecture/Engineering/Construction Industry)3 years of accounting experienceFamiliarity with accounting software (Workday experience is a plus)Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office suiteDemonstrates accurate judgments about the applicability of project cost accounting, federal cost accounting standardsThe ability to monitor, collect, and analyze dataCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage time efficiently across multiple tasksUnderstanding of generally accepted accounting principlesWorking knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machinesProficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to multi-taskPerform additional duties as assigned and/or directedWork Environment and Physical RequirementsThe physical and environmental requirements below reflect what's typically needed to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively.
