Final Filing Date: 10/8/2026 Join the Accounting Services Branch as we support the programs carrying out the mission of the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Under the direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Associate Accounting Analyst performs professional accounting, and reconciliation, and analytical duties within the Cash Receipts Unit. The incumbent is responsible for researching, analyzing, and reconciling complex accounting transactions related to monthly bank reconciliation, uncleared collections, and dishonored check accounts for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW). The incumbent reviews financial transactions for accuracy, resolves current and historical and reconciling items, processes revenue corrections, and implements corrective actions to maintain the integrity of the Department’s cash receipt records. As lead staff, the incumbent provides technical guidance to program staff, assists with transaction coding issues, participates in audits and special projects. All duties are performed in accordance with Accounting Services Branch policies, the State Administrative Manual, State Controller’s Office requirements, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations. The position is headquartered in the Natural Resources Building located in downtown Sacramento. The office is right next to Light Rail for an easy commute and features ergonomic furniture, panoramic downtown views, a free employee gym, a cafeteria and bodega, and adjacent childcare. Personal Leave Program: Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to temporary salary reductions ranging from 2% to 4.62% in exchange for Personal Leave Program (PLP) hours. Please note that the salary ranges listed in this Job Control may not reflect these reductions associated with the 2025 Personal Leave Program. This position may be eligible for a telework opportunity in accordance with departmental policies and operational needs. Beginning July 1, 2026, employees will be required to work in-person at least four (4) days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. Additional in-office days may be required based on operational needs. This position is a 12-month Limited Term (LT) and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent. Job Type: 12 Month Limited Term - Full Time Telework: Hybrid Work Location: Natural Resources Building, downtown Sacramento. Working Conditions Ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods. Time off may not be granted during the year-end Financial Statement period. Work with staff statewide to complete work assignments. Required to attend offsite meetings using private or public transportation, or other means of transportation such as walking between locations. Position is located in a high-rise building. This position offers the possibility of a hybrid telework schedule depending on operational needs.
