Behavioral Health Technician

The organization values dignity, respect, and recovery-focused services for all clients. Role Description The Behavioral Health Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Gainesville, GA. This position supports individuals receiving behavioral health and related services by assisting with daily living activities, implementing treatment and behavior support plans, and monitoring client safety and well-being. The technician will observe and document client behaviors, participate in therapeutic and skill‑building activities, and report client progress or concerns to licensed clinicians. Daily tasks include maintaining a safe, supportive environment, modeling appropriate behaviors, and assisting with de‑escalation and crisis response under supervision. The role also involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, following agency policies and procedures, and participating in training and meetings as required. Qualifications Foundational understanding of Behavior Analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support implementation of behavior support and treatment plans. Knowledge of Psychology principles related to mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use conditions. Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written documentation, active listening, and collaboration with clients, families, and team members. Experience or training in Behavioral Intervention, including behavior monitoring, reinforcement strategies, and basic de‑escalation techniques. High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary coursework in psychology, social work, human services, or related field preferred. Previous experience in behavioral health, residential, or community‑based support settings is beneficial. Ability to maintain professional boundaries, uphold confidentiality, and work effectively with diverse populations. Capacity to work assigned shifts on‑site in Gainesville, GA, including possible evenings, weekends, or holidays as program needs require.
