BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking a Project Manager LIMS for MD area. This position is a full-time, on location role located at Pikesville, MD 21208. The average workday is 8 hours and the window in which those 8 hours may be scheduled is between 6:00am hours and 6:00pm hours eastern time, Monday through Friday except for Government Holidays with the core hours between 7am to 5pm.

As a Project Manager LIMS , your responsible for working with Forensic Science Division (FSD) on the implementation of their new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), tasks including process analysis and redesign, change management (both functional and organizational), document management, and being a liaison between FSD and the awarded system vendor.

Key Responsibilities : 

A. Performs day-to-day management of the project, identifies issues and risks and recommends possible issue and risk mitigation strategies associated with the project; 

 
B. Acts as a facilitator between Maryland Department of State Police (MDSP) and the awarded system vendor. Is responsible for ensuring that work performed under the LIMS contract is within scope, consistent with requirements, and delivered on time and on budget. Identifies critical tasks, dates, testing, and acceptance criteria;

 

 
C. Provides solutions to improve efficiency (e.g., reduces costs while maintaining or improving performance levels); creates and/or updates system documentation and guides for system users;

 

 
D. Provides up-to-date status reports that include mitigation plans if/when a problem is identified. Demonstrates excellent writing and oral communications skills, as well as having an understanding of MDSP’s paramilitary chain of command structure, and

 
E. Other duties as assigned 

Basic Qualifications : 

• Bachelor’s degree degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or other related discipline. 


• Have at least five (5) years of experience in project management. Experience working in Maryland State Government preferred.

Specialized Experience:  

• Have at least five (5) years of experience in managing IT-related projects and must demonstrate a leadership role in at least three (3) successful projects that were delivered on time and on budget. 

Preferred Qualifications : 

• Have a master’s degree or project management certification is preferred.
