We are looking for an experienced Controller to support a manufacturing organization in Ohio. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can quickly step into a leadership role, bring structure to daily financial operations, and contribute with minimal ramp-up time. The right candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while using Sage 100 to manage core accounting activities.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help maintain accurate, timely financial records for the organization.
• Manage month-end activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and review of financial results.
• Use Sage 100 to support general ledger functions, reporting, and ongoing accounting processes.
• Compile, organize, and maintain financial and operational documentation to support reporting accuracy and audit readiness.
• Review accounting workflows, identify gaps, and take initiative to improve efficiency and consistency across processes.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to provide financial insight, resolve accounting issues, and support business decision-making.
• Step into the controllership function on an interim basis and provide dependable leadership during the engagement.• 2+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or controllership-related responsibilities.
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Sage 100 and familiarity with accounting systems used for financial management and reporting.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial close activities.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and take ownership of priorities with limited direction.
• Experience handling document organization, scanning, and record compilation in a structured business setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
