Technician Assistant

VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center (SVRC) is seeking a Technician Assistant to support our Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) team. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, compassionate, and eager to learn in a fast-paced emergency environment.

What You'll Do

• Assist technicians and doctors with patient restraint, treatments, procedures, and hospitalized patient care

• Walk stable patients and report changes to the medical team

• Clean and disinfect cages, treatment areas, and procedure spaces

• Stock supplies, maintain laundry flow, and support overall department organization

• Assist with radiographs, lab testing, surgical prep, and clean-up once trained

• Follow hospital safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 years old

• Strong communication skills and a professional, team-focused attitude

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

• Reliable attendance and dependable transportation

• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and remain active throughout long shifts

VCA SVRC is a leading specialty and emergency hospital offering hands-on experience in emergency medicine, strong team support, and opportunities for growth within the veterinary field. The pay range for this position is $17.50 to $18.50 per hour. Compensation is based on experience, skillset and education.
