System Analyst 6 - Business Analyst Focus

Top Skills & Years of Experience:

- Minimum 3 years of experience as System/Business Analyst conducting Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with Customers and requirement gatherings

- Minimum 2 years of experience in software testing

- Minimum 1 year of RDBMS / SQL experience

- Must have excelled oral and written communication skills. Position will be customer facing.

- Preferred experience in Agile/Scrum

This SA/Business Analyst position will support LEO – Wage & Hour Division applications.

Job duties of this position include but not limited to, requirement gathering, business process analysis/improvement, requirements management and software testing; Assess “As Is” and “To Be” processes and document gaps; collect end-user requirements for improving business processes and software via interviews, focus groups and other stakeholder discussions; categorize/segment similar requirements, and create additional requirements that address client pain points; maintain up-to-date requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test plans (in Excel, word docs, Microsoft Azure), and run reports on the same to inform management discussions; facilitate planning and requirements meetings, understand and create solutions to improve user experience, agile product development support.

Participate in Sprint ceremonies; collaborate with product development team to translate requirements into technical specifications for the proposed solution; design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design; maintain reusable scripts, technical documentation, and specifications; develop user stories and initial wireframes to guide the architecture of the proposed solution; develop software test plans; participate in regression testing, quality assurance testing, user acceptance testing and conduct necessary sessions/focus groups with users to capture feedback on functionality being developed within each agile sprint.

Translate user feedback into refined requirements for development team; serve as liaison between client business users and development team, communicating and interpreting requirements and technical solutions; collaborate to elicit new product ideas and improve existing solutions; program management documentation support, including developing high quality presentation for client meetings; and participate in team and customer meetings, documenting notes and action items; basic knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), Structured Query Language (SQL) and Microsoft products Word, Excel and Visio.

Skills Required:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in software testing (MS Excel, Word, Azure)

- Minimum 1 year of RDBMS / SQL experience

- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Will be face to face with LEO customers.

- Preferred experience in Agile/Scrum

Will need to be onsite 2-3 days per week in Detroit, MI office for hybrid work schedule. Only local candidates will be considered at this time.
