Systems Analyst II

Location: Detroit, MI Type of Hire: CWR

Responsibilities:

Participate in business short-term planning sessions to ensure understanding of business goals, direction, and business requirements; provide input from an IT systems perspective. Provide data on cost projections for own work.

Serve as a liaison between business areas and the IT organization and vendors in coordination with project managers to provide technical solutions that address user needs.

Translate business requirements into technical requirements. Formulate and define system scope and objective based on user needs and understanding of business processes. Develop, write, and communicate systems design, functional system specifications, and functional architecture analysis.

Develop user and/or system test cases and validate test results during testing, as needed. Document business/systems modifications. Support/develop system manuals. Support and may develop system enhancement communication.

Identify, investigate, resolve and escalate problems as needed. Gather data to support recommendations to address problems.

Procure technical assistance to help in problem resolution. Work closely with developers and end-users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction, as needed. Provide assistance in business case development (i.e., research, data collection, systems), as needed.

Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies.

Ensure understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and the impact of work on the achievement of the service levels. Support achievement of SLAs.

Top Three Skills/Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years Production Support Experience

Minimum 3-5 years working with Change Management and Incident reporting

Minimum 3 -5 years of Business/Vendor Relations and Communication

Required Skills/Experience:

Demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively understand and translate product and business requirements into customer solutions

Excellent documentation skills, experience creating multiple conceptual design and detail design documents

Comprehensive unit and functional testing experience to ensure code quality

Experienced in a team-focused working environment

Able to apply structured thinking, simplifying complex problems into component parts

Able to think ahead in order to establish an efficient and appropriate course of action for self and others

Strong communication skills; able to get one's message understood clearly by adopting a range of styles, tools, and techniques appropriate to the audience and the nature of the information

Takes a proactive approach to work without close supervision

Maintains personal effectiveness, embracing challenging deadlines, change and complex problem solving, approaching tasks with motivation and commitment

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Previous healthcare experience

Experienced working with Member and EDI support teams

Experienced in SharePoint

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
