Senior General Ledger Accountant
Location: South Bay, CA (hybrid)

The role
This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role on the global Accounting and Finance team. You'll own core GL activity, month-end close, and balance sheet integrity across multiple entities, working closely with FP&A, Payroll, AP, Revenue, and international accounting partners. It suits someone who is strong on the fundamentals, comfortable in the ERP, and genuinely interested in using automation to improve how close gets done.

What you'll do

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close for assigned entities and cost centers under US GAAP
• Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries including accruals, fixed assets, prepaids, reclasses, allocations, intercompany, FX, payroll, and benefits
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (cash, payroll and benefits, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, intercompany) and resolve variances
• Build and maintain ASC 842 lease schedules and record related entries
• Support global consolidation, intercompany eliminations, and reconciliation of intercompany balances across US and international entities
• Prepare P&L and balance sheet flux analysis and explain variances to finance leadership
• Work with Payroll, Purchasing, and local accounting partners on global payroll and benefits postings, including stock-based compensation
• Support external audits with schedules, reconciliations, and responses to auditor requests
• Maintain and improve GL controls, documentation, and accounting policies
• Use AI and automation tools to streamline reconciliations, reporting, and workflows
• Handle compliance filings including sales and use tax, property tax, business registrations, and franchise tax
• Support the Controller and Assistant Controller on special projects such as new entity setup and system rollouts

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5 to 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong GL and close focus, ideally in semiconductor, or SaaS
• Solid US GAAP knowledge, including multi-entity and multi-currency environments
• Hands-on ERP experience, with Dynamics 365 Business Central (or NAV, AX, F&O) strongly preferred.
  
• A track record of improving or automating accounting processes through ERP workflows, AI tools, RPA, or Power Query and Power BI

Nice to have

• CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent
• Semiconductor, IP, or high-tech industry experience
• Exposure to AI-driven finance tools
• Experience with Workday, Concur, payroll systems, consolidation tools, or Power BI
• Big 4 or large regional firm audit exposure
