Job Summary

We are seeking an organized and employee-focused HR Generalist – Administrative Support to provide day-to-day human resources support across two manufacturing facilities in Kansas City, Missouri.

This role supports key HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, attendance tracking, employee records management, training compliance, payroll coordination, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will be approachable, detail-oriented, and capable of handling confidential employee information while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily HR administrative support to employees, supervisors, and managers by responding to routine inquiries and explaining company policies and procedures.
• Assist with recruiting activities, including candidate communication, interview scheduling, and recruitment coordination.
• Support onboarding and new-hire orientation, ensuring required documentation is completed and new employees are successfully integrated.
• Assist with benefits administration, employee enrollment activities, and annual open enrollment processes.
• Maintain accurate employee personnel files, HRIS records, and employment documentation in accordance with company policies and record-retention requirements.
• Support attendance management by maintaining attendance records, coordinating employee follow-ups, and documenting relevant information.
• Coordinate employee engagement, recognition, wellness initiatives, and company-sponsored events in partnership with HR leadership.
• Schedule and track required employee training and maintain compliance documentation to ensure completion within established deadlines.
• Prepare HR reports, organize documents, coordinate meetings, audit employee files, and maintain confidential records.
• Assist with payroll-related activities, including timekeeping reviews, attendance tracking, employee data updates, and routine payroll inquiries.
• Coordinate documentation and tracking for extended leaves, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other leaves of absence.
• Support employee offboarding and separation processes.
• Work closely with HR leadership, payroll, and operations teams to resolve employee-related administrative matters.
• Provide HR support across both facilities and assist with activities involving multiple shifts, training sessions, and recruiting events as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience in human resources, administrative support, customer service, or employee support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong administrative, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information professionally.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret and explain HR policies and procedures.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with HR leadership and other departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience with HR information systems (HRIS), applicant tracking systems (ATS), or employee databases.
• Experience supporting HR operations in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
• Familiarity with benefits administration, attendance management, payroll coordination, employee onboarding, and leave administration.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move between office, warehouse, and production areas throughout the workday.
• Regular use of computers, telephones, and standard office equipment.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safely access manufacturing and warehouse areas.

Work Environment

• Onsite position supporting two manufacturing facilities in Kansas City, Missouri.
• Combination of office, warehouse, and production-floor environments.
• Regular interaction with employees, supervisors, and management.
• May involve exposure to manufacturing noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
• Must follow all workplace safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Occasional support for multiple shifts, training sessions, recruiting activities, and company events may be required.
