Client Overview:

Our client is an established law firm seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a collaborative and fast-paced Litigation team. The firm handles sophisticated civil matters, including complex litigation and consumer-related disputes, and is looking for a motivated self-starter who can independently manage cases while supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$70k - $75k

Position Overview:

The Litigation Paralegal will manage matters throughout the full litigation lifecycle, from initial investigation and pre-suit development through discovery, active litigation, trial preparation, and resolution. This individual will work closely with attorneys and clients while maintaining case files, deadlines, discovery, court filings, and litigation materials.

Responsibilities of the Litigation Paralegal:

• Manage assigned matters from initial investigation and pre-litigation through active litigation and resolution.
• Assist with the investigation and development of class action, consumer fraud, consumer protection, mortgage/servicing, and other complex civil litigation matters.
• Conduct client intake and maintain regular communication with clients regarding case information and outstanding documentation.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, correspondence, discovery requests/responses, notices, subpoenas, and other litigation documents.
• Coordinate written discovery, document collection, review, organization, and production.
• Identify, calendar, and monitor court deadlines, hearings, discovery obligations, and filings.
• Assist with state and federal court filings and electronic filing systems.
• Review and summarize records, correspondence, evidence, and other case documentation.
• Coordinate depositions and assist with deposition, hearing, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Prepare exhibits, case timelines, summaries, deposition binders, hearing binders, trial materials, and other attorney work product.
• Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, vendors, and other parties.
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files and provide administrative support to the litigation team as needed.

Required Experience/Skills for the Litigation Paralegal:

• Prior paralegal experience within civil litigation.
• Experience managing matters through multiple stages of the litigation lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with pleadings, discovery, depositions, court filings, case management, and trial preparation.
• Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
• Ability to independently manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills and experience working with legal case/document management systems.
• Willingness to assist with both substantive paralegal work and hands-on administrative/case preparation responsibilities.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Litigation Paralegal:

• Experience with class actions, consumer protection, consumer fraud, mortgage/servicing or foreclosure litigation, banking/financial services litigation, or other complex civil litigation.
• Federal court litigation and electronic filing experience.
• Experience managing high-volume or complex caseloads.
• Experience preparing cases for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial.

Education Requirements:

• Paralegal certificate is preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant litigation experience will be considered.
