Job Details

A well-established South Florida business litigation boutique is seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling sophisticated and high-stakes business litigation matters.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting attorneys in state and federal court litigation and is comfortable managing deadlines, coordinating case activity and handling the day-to-day needs of a busy litigation practice.

Responsibilities:

• Manage attorney calendars and litigation deadlines
• Calendar state and federal court deadlines
• Prepare basic notices, filings and correspondence
• Proofread motions, pleadings, discovery, correspondence and other legal documents
• Prepare and submit state and federal court e-filings
• Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations and meetings
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel and outside vendors
• Coordinate with court reporters, process servers and e-discovery providers
• Conduct basic legal and internet research
• Pull and organize case law using Westlaw
• Maintain accurate physical and electronic case files
• Assist attorneys with case preparation and administrative needs
• Handle confidential and sensitive client information with discretion
• Manage multiple priorities while meeting critical deadlines

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of legal assistant and/or paralegal experience in Florida
• Litigation experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Florida state and federal court procedures
• Experience with court e-filing systems
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology and litigation processes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and work independently
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
