Training Location: Fresno, CA (Onsite for approximately 2 weeks)

Work Arrangement: Fully Remote After Training & Production Readiness

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM

We're seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Claims Examiner I to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to apply their billing and coding knowledge in a professional healthcare environment. While prior claims processing experience is welcome, it is not required. We are willing to train motivated individuals who have a strong foundation in medical billing and coding and a desire to learn.

After completing training and meeting production standards, you'll transition to a fully remote position.

What You'll Do

As a Claims Examiner I, You'll Learn How To

• Review and process medical, dental, and vision claims
• Analyze claim information for accuracy and completeness
• Verify member eligibility, benefits, and prior authorizations
• Research claim discrepancies and determine appropriate next steps
• Calculate benefits and adjudicate claims according to plan guidelines
• Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation
• Process claim adjustments and corrections
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidential information
• Meet quality and productivity standards while developing your healthcare claims expertise

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Billing & Coding Certification (required)
• Basic understanding of medical terminology
• Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Typing speed of approximately 40 WPM and strong data entry skills
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new processes, and work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Billing & Coding program
• Internship, externship, classroom training, or hands-on experience related to medical billing, coding, healthcare administration, or revenue cycle operations
• Familiarity with UB-04 and CMS-1500 (HCFA) claim forms
• Healthcare customer service, administrative, or clerical experience

No prior claims adjudication experience required. We welcome candidates looking to start their career in healthcare and provide training to help you succeed.

This is a Contract position based out of Fresno, CA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
