House Supervisor

Title: House Supervisor Location: Long Beach, CA Department: Central Staffing Status: Full Time Shift: Nights (12hrs) Pay Range*: $66.32/hr - $99.47/hr Position Summary House Supervisor is a management position with shift responsibility for directing and coordinating patient placement and nurse staffing throughout LBMC. The role involves triaging admissions and transfers, making final unit assignments, responding to all customer and staff requests, and handling emergency codes. The House Supervisor acts as the executive nursing representative during Code Triages, initiating emergency policies when beds or staff are lacking, and serving as the immediate supervisor for on‑duty Central Staffing and Float Unit staff. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job Manage patient flow within the medical center and assign rooms for admissions and transfers. Make final unit assignment decisions when agreement cannot be reached, based on ATD guidelines, physician orders, and professional judgment. Direct nurse staffing for the hospital and secure supplemental agency nursing staff as needed. Serve as the on‑duty supervisor for Central Staffing Office staff and all Float Unit staff. Respond to all hospital emergencies and initiate Code Triage; act as Chief Nursing Officer and Incident Commander during triages. Respond to requests from physicians, patients, families, support service staff, and managers. Act on behalf of nursing and hospital administration in their absence and coordinate with administrators on call. Collaborate with medical center directors to implement and enforce policies, procedures, and values. Ensure patients receive appropriate care by ensuring correct triage and unit assignment. Implement emergency policies when beds are unavailable or the emergency department is saturated or closed to trauma. Under the direction of the Director, assume additional responsibilities such as: Staff coaching and counseling Participation in the CAT process and quality improvement activities Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $66.32/hr to $99.47/hr. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements Qualifications/Work Experience: 5 years of active nursing practice in acute care 2 years of nursing management preferred Prior nursing leadership required Education/Licensure/Certification: Current California RN license required Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing required; MSN holders are exempt from BSN requirement American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required #J-18808-Ljbffr
