We’re looking for a sales rep who can walk into a bar, restaurant, or grocery store, build a real relationship, and leave with Templin Family Brewing beer on the shelf and on tap. ABOUT US

Templin Family Brewing is a Utah craft brewery founded in Salt Lake City in 2018. Our motto is “Slow Pours and Big Foam,” and every beer we make is held to the highest standards from grain to glass.

Our brewing is deeply rooted in German tradition. We brew and ferment everything on our 15-barrel brewhouse in the heart of Salt Lake City. Lager is our passion, but we have the skills to brew IPAs, sours, Belgian styles, and anything else that tickles our fancy.

THE ROLE

As our Sales Representative, you are the face of Templin Family Brewing in the market and an active member of Utah’s craft beer community. You’ll visit new and existing accounts, build relationships based on trust, share expert knowledge about our beer, and grow sales. You’ll work closely with our distributors to increase market share, keep our beer looking and tasting its best at every retail outlet (including DABS stores and major grocery chains), and plan events that get more people drinking TF beer.

We’re selective about where our beer goes. We’d rather be in the right accounts than in every account. That means bars, restaurants, and retailers who share our standards and will pour, store, and present our beer the way it deserves. You’ll help us choose those partners carefully.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Build relationships and grow accounts

•     Create lasting customer relationships built on trust and reliability.

•     Prospect new accounts that fit our brand and find new placement opportunities at existing ones.

•     Visit accounts regularly, with a plan for each visit based on what happened last time.

•     Ask open-ended questions, handle objections, and find solutions that help customers grow their business.

•     Focus on high-volume accounts while giving medium and smaller accounts the same respect.

•     Lead taproom tours and tastings for current and potential accounts.

Know the beer and the market

•     Maintain deep knowledge of Templin Family Brewing beer and wine so you can present and position each product well.

•     Stay current on what competitors are offering and how our products compare.

•     Analyze sales reports and market trends to spot growth opportunities and hit targets.

•     Keep product quality standards high at every retail outlet.

Stay organized and work as a team

•     Keep detailed, up-to-date CRM notes: conversations, samples delivered, and everyone you met (with their roles).

•     Work with our Production Manager and distributors on orders to keep beer in the market and minimize out-of-stocks.

•     Plan and run events that build brand awareness.

•     Join sales meetings, on-site trainings, and supplier events as needed.

•     Help with off-schedule deliveries when needed.

•     Follow all laws and regulations and conduct business professionally.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required

•     Must be at least 21 years old.

•     High school diploma or GED.

•     Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

•     Familiarity with Utah alcohol laws and the three-tier system, and the ability to work with distributors.

•     Comfort reading sales reports and using a CRM.

•     Confidence using a smartphone, iPad, email, and messaging professionally.

•     Ability to travel, including occasional overnights in Southern Utah and out of state.

•     A results-driven attitude, even when things get tough.

•     Ownership of your work and a commitment to great service for customers, suppliers, and teammates.

•     A team-player mindset. You’ll work with every part of the brewery.

Nice to have

•     Experience in beer, wine, or spirits sales.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

•     Driving for much of the day, with stretches of up to 5 hours.

•     Lifting and moving cases and kegs, and setting up for events.

•     Extended periods of sitting and working on a computer or mobile device.
