Ocean Import Specialist – International Freight Forwarding – Miami, FL About the Company We are representing a growing international freight forwarding provider with an established global network and a strong reputation for delivering tailored logistics solutions across air, ocean, and supply chain services. Following continued expansion in the U.S. market, the business is looking to add an experienced Ocean Import Specialist to its Miami office to support increasing shipment volumes and continued customer growth. About the Role This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freight forwarding professional who enjoys taking full ownership of import shipments from start to finish. Working as part of a collaborative operations team, you’ll manage international ocean import shipments from A–Z, ensuring cargo moves efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll work closely with overseas offices, steamship lines, customs brokers, trucking companies, warehouses, and customers to ensure shipments are completed accurately, compliantly, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities Manage international ocean import shipments from A–Z Coordinate cargo movements with overseas offices, agents, steamship lines, and transportation providers Prepare, review, and process all import documentation accurately and in a timely manner Arrange customs clearance, cargo release, delivery appointments, and final transportation Track vessel arrivals and proactively communicate shipment updates with customers Liaise with customs brokers, warehouses, CFS facilities, and trucking companies to ensure smooth cargo movement Resolve operational issues quickly while maintaining a high level of customer service Ensure shipment files, billing, and operational records are completed accurately Build strong working relationships with customers, overseas partners, and service providers Ensure all shipments comply with company procedures and U.S. import regulations Candidate Requirements Previous experience within international freight forwarding operations Strong ocean import experience with the ability to manage shipments from A–Z Good understanding of ocean freight documentation and U.S. import procedures Experience coordinating with steamship lines, customs brokers, truckers, warehouses, and overseas agents Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative operations team Experience using CargoWise or other freight forwarding operating systems is advantageous What You Can Expect Join a growing international freight forwarding organization with an expanding U.S. presence Work within a supportive and experienced operations team Opportunity to take ownership of your own shipment portfolio Long-term career development within an international logistics business Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package #J-18808-Ljbffr
