Schedule Crew members will typically work Monday‑Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM—40 hours each week. Occasionally they may work on Saturdays or during evening hours, but this is uncommon. All crew members must report on‑site by 7:45 AM (15 minutes before start time) to obtain security clearance, sign the visitor logbook, and possibly pass through metal detectors. Site Environments We travel across the five boroughs each week, visiting a new location each time. Working strictly for institutions within NYC’s Department of Education, we approach each site with respect, cleanliness, and awareness of our surroundings. Projects vary from clean offices to basements, attics, and closets that may require personal protective equipment. Sites often come with dirt, dust, and varying temperatures. Physical Requirements Some projects rely more on analytical skills, while others are labor‑intensive. Most sites lack elevators, requiring us to haul trash, lift furniture, and navigate stairs. Each crew member must lift at least 25 lbs on their own and collaboratively, repeatedly. Sitting is rarely allowed; most work requires being on feet all day. Good physical health is essential for sustainability. Key Responsibilities On‑Site Organizing & Cleanup Declutter and organize classrooms, closets, supply rooms, and offices. Remove garbage and unwanted items; assist with hauling and disposal. Label supplies, file paperwork, and maintain inventory systems. Help with layout redesigns and set up newly arranged spaces. Furniture & Installation Support Assemble and disassemble furniture as needed. Install shelving, bins, or signage as required by the project. Handle tools and supplies with care and safety in mind. Team Collaboration & Site Support Follow site‑specific directions and workflows provided by the leadership team. Communicate clearly and respectfully with teammates, clients, and supervisors. Represent the Organized Human brand with professionalism and pride. Compensation & Training Period This position begins with a structured 30‑60‑90 Individual Development Plan (IDP) designed to onboard and train new team members on organizational foundations. During this period, you will join the team as an Operations & Organizing Associate (OOA) at $25/hr. If expectations are met and the fit is mutual after the 30‑60‑90 IDP, leadership will propose a new IDP for the remaining 3 months of probation. This plan fast‑tracks high performers toward becoming a specialist or lead. Acceptance of the 120‑150‑180 IDP increases compensation to $26/hr for the remainder of the probationary period. Upon successful completion of the 120‑150‑180 IDP and the 6‑month probationary period, team members who demonstrate strong performance and commitment will be promoted from OOA to their specialized title. Promotion changes the role from hourly to a full‑time salaried compensation of $28/hr for a 40‑hour workweek (approximately $58,240 annually), with cash bonuses, increased responsibility, and long‑term growth within the company.
