Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper to join a nonprofit organization. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the organization’s financial health. Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial statements and reports
• Process and code accounts payable and set up new accounts
• Process accounts receivable
• Bank account reconciliations, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks
• Maintain the general ledger
• Manage the grant records and communicate information to the Controller
• Provide outside auditors with account information and documents to perform the annual audit
• Work alongside the Program Director to create grant budgets
• File grant reports with federal, state, and local government agencies
• Answer any accounting questions

Experience

• Minimum of three years of experience in nonprofit accounting or related fields is preferred
• Proven expertise with accounting software like Great Plains, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
• Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
