Key Qualifications:

• Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist License required
• Prior experience working with K-12 students, ideally across a range of ages
• Solid understanding of current practices and methodologies in orientation and mobility instruction
• Ability to effectively assess student needs and adapt lesson plans accordingly
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage students, families, and staff
• Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide onsite orientation and mobility training to students with visual impairments from kindergarten through high school
• Evaluate student progress, document outcomes, and continuously update individualized plans to ensure effective support
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators and related service providers
• Deliver structured, engaging lessons, both in classroom and real-world community settings
• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor development and implement solutions as needs change
• Advocate for student needs and foster a positive learning environment

This contract position runs from September 1, 2026 through June 14, 2027, with a schedule of 32.5 hours per week (8:15 am – 3:15 pm). The assignment is based fully onsite, giving you the chance to build strong, consistent relationships with students and staff alike.
