Business Development Specialist

This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and dynamic marketing and business development team. The Business Development Specialist will play a key role in helping the Business Development team coordinate and execute a range of business development and marketing initiatives while providing exceptional internal and external client service, managing projects with accuracy and accountability, and proactively contributing to the firm’s business development strategy. This is an ideal role for someone with high energy, drive, and a desire to learn and advance in the legal marketing industry. Responsibilities Contribute to the drafting and coordination of pitches, RFP responses and award or league table submissions, ensuring high-quality, tailored content that reflects the firm’s capabilities and strategy. Work collaboratively with Business Development Managers, the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer, and partners to execute business development and marketing initiatives. Collect, organize and maintain key practice group information, including experience, marketing collateral, website content, client profiles and market intelligence; maintain data in the firm’s CRM and experience databases. Develop an understanding of the firm’s practices, experience, clients, and competitors, applying that knowledge to enhance marketing and business development efforts. Collaborate with the Marketing Events team in planning and executing conferences, events, seminars, webinars, and other client engagement initiatives. Conduct research of prospective targets, industries, markets, competition, and events by leveraging firm tools, including the firm’s CRM, intranet, and external platforms, and create reports in support of business development activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, with 2-3 years of legal marketing experience, preferably with emphasis in business development. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to respond in an organized manner to time sensitive marketing and business development requests. Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and eagerness to understand Brown Rudnick’s business priorities, practice activities, and related market dynamics. Exceptional attention to detail, including with respect to maintaining data in our marketing databases. Strong commitment to client service. High levels of organization, communication, and writing skills. High level of proficiency with all Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required; experience with Canva, Vuture, CRM, experience databases, website CMS, and other legal marketing software preferred. Hybrid work environment, in office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Flexibility to perform after-hours work is required. Salary range based on experience level and location is estimated to be in the range of $65,000-85,000.
