Louisiana Bridge Builders ("LBB") is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

Position Purpose/Summary

The Carpenter I is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by assisting in the constructing, installing, repairing, and removal of structures and fixtures for the Project.

Location

This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Assist with wood, concrete, and other materials formwork.
2. Assist with measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood, plywood, and other materials according to plans and specifications.
3. Assist in building, setting, and removing concrete forms and placing concrete for structures.
4. Assist with the installation of anchors, bolts, and reinforcing components for roadway structures.
5. Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely.
6. Assist with concrete pouring and finishing process.
7. Ensure work meets quality standards and complies with construction codes.
8. Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
9. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

At a minimum, the Carpenter I must have 2+ years of relevant construction experience along with proven knowledge of tools and equipment.
