Marketing Specialist Job Summary Support the planning and execution of many marketing,communication, and related tasks at the Lassonde EntrepreneurInstitute, a top-10 ranked division of the David Eccles School ofBusiness at the University of Utah. Duties and responsibilitiesinclude writing, editing, social media, graphic design, outreach,program support, photography, video, contributor coordination,website content management, and a variety of other tasks to supportthe institute's mission to inspire and assist studententrepreneurs. The Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute is a nationally ranked hub forstudent entrepreneurship and innovation at the University of Utahand an interdisciplinary division of the David Eccles School ofBusiness. The first programs were offered in 2001, through thevision and support of Pierre Lassonde, an alumnus of the EcclesSchool and successful mining entrepreneur. The institute nowprovides opportunities for thousands of students to learn aboutentrepreneurship and innovation. Programs include workshops,networking events, business-plan competitions, startup support,innovation programs, graduate seminars, scholarships, communityoutreach and more. All programs are open to students from anyacademic major or background. The Lassonde Entrepreneur Institutealso manages Lassonde Studios, a five-story innovation space andhousing facility for all students. Learn more at Responsibilities Writes and edits a variety of marketing materials and featurearticles Manages social media planning, content development, andexecution Edits and publishes website content including text, photos, andgraphics Photographs and films various events and activities Supports many student and community programs andactivities Assists with managing student and alumni marketingcontributors Manages outreach tasks as needed on and off campus Contributes ideas and feedback on a wide variety of marketingprojects Joins a dedicated team of marketing professionals and studentsto achieve department goals Works on the University of Utah campus in various locations andoccasionally at locations off campus Manages the distribution of printed marketing materials acrosscampus and other locations Designs marketing materials including posters, social mediagraphics, publications, and other materials Completes other related tasks as time allows as part of adynamic organization Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience). Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directlyrelated work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skillsrequired.
