Facilities Technician

Job Summary Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana | Employment Type: Full‑Time, On‑Site | Salary Range: $33,097 – $46,060 | Classification: N4‑Hourly, Ivy Tech Community College. This Facilities Technician will support campus facilities operations by maintaining campus buildings and systems to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment. Provide general building, grounds, and equipment maintenance services. Repair and maintain department‑specific equipment. Support college departments as needed. Respond to fire alarms during work hours. Assist with snow and ice removal operations. Respond to after‑hours emergencies as required. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned. Schedule Typical business hours: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with a one‑hour lunch period. Schedule may be adjusted during peak operational periods. Additional benefits information: Minimum Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related trade. Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Valid driver’s license. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. First Aid/CPR certification. Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting (50lbs. or more), carrying, climbing, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Ability to hear, speak, see, and read on a continuous basis. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in a maintenance‑related field.
