Contributing to a cross-discipline team on all aspects of system design and integration, this position offers the ability to work closely with mechanical, optical and software disciplines.The primary responsibilities will be in the design and specification of analog and digital electronic circuits, including circuit layout, prototyping, debugging and verification. This position involves research, innovation and being committed to customer satisfaction. Broadly qualified candidates will embrace contribution to hardware, firmware and simulation needs as well as extensive hands-on experience with products and lab equipment.The location of the position is in Londonderry, NH; up to 10% travel may be required to customer locations and other Thorlabs sites.Essential Job Functions Include The Following, But Are Not Limited To:Design and develop electronics for precision scientific instruments and peripheralsDevelop firmware to control and monitor a number of optical, mechanical and electrical components within one integrated systemTake a design from an initial concept through prototyping, debugging and manufacturing phasesManage project timeline and costsManage electronic component vendors and contract manufacturersTroubleshoot and resolve electronics related system issuesManage electronics engineering documentation and material specificationsDevelop circuits and systems to meet R&D and manufacturing needsIn addition to the essential functions and duties listed above, all positions are also responsible for:Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.The Company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.Physical Activities:This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Ability to reconfigure electronics lab test equipment as needed.
