The Assistant Director of Clinical Services partners closely with the Director of Clinical Services to provide clinical leadership, guidance, and supervision of a team of mental health clinicians and peer support specialists to promote positive outcomes and to enhance the overall functioning and well-being of individuals and families. The Assistant Director is responsible for programmatic oversight, mentoring and coaching staff, clinical supervision, performance management, record keeping and reporting, budget oversight, contract management, and on-call responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Catholic Charities Behavioral Health Clinic in Boston.
• Hire, train, supervise, and schedule staff clinicians and peer support specialists who work both in the office and client homes.
• Review assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure clinical quality and compliance.
• Work in close collaboration with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and other external funding agencies. Oversee and manage contracts with DCF and other agencies.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining community partnerships with the goal of securing referrals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences with the funding agency and other Catholic Charities clinical team members.
• Provide individual supervision to staff (at least monthly, often weekly).
• Participate in clinic High Risk meetings, Quality Assurance meetings, and peer supervision sessions.
• Review clinical documentation and ensure it meets Catholic Charities and funding agency requirements, including biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and session notes.
• Meet regularly with the program team to discuss clinical and case management needs and provide organizational updates as needed (may provide direct services to a small caseload of clients/families).
• Collaborate with Director of Clinical Services and Senior Director for Family Services regarding budget and contractual obligations.
• Monitor work performance, provide feedback to employees, and provide suggestions for improvement when necessary. Evaluate progress and goals throughout the year. Complete the annual performance appraisal for all direct report staff.
• On-call clinician responsibilities as needed.
• Responsible for the preparation and delivery of timely submission of reports to the funding agency.
• Review and approve employee timecards in accordance with organizational policy. 
• Work will be performed in a general office setting and in community settings as needed.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality as required by HIPAA.
• Attendance at internal and external meetings and trainings.
• Local travel as needed to perform the functions of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Independent licensure (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) is required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years relevant program experience.
• Strong supervisory skills and at least 3 years of experience supervising in a human service environment.
• Experience with substance addiction and knowledge of community resources.
• Background in home-based counseling and case management services.
• Demonstrated ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
• Knowledge of working with program budgets and contracts.
• Experience working with the Department of Children and Families programming, assessment, service planning, and case review.
• Proficiency in working with an Electronic Health Records system preferred.
• Bilingual abilities are preferred.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and remote communication platforms.
• A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation and insurance coverage.
• Some evening and weekend availability as needed for on-call work or evening groups.

The base pay range reflects what Catholic Charities reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation in this range may be determined based on other factors, including but not limited to work experience, education and specialty training.
