Operations Associate

Description

Essential Job Functions

• Monitors the status of shipments from pickup through delivery

• Enters shipment location, date and time into Dispatch system

• Contacts carriers and drivers via phone, email or internet to determine driver location

• Escalates potential or existing service failures to Dispatch, Operations Management and Client

• Works closely with Dispatch, Account Mangers, Account Executives and Operations to ensure service level expectations are achieved and clients are informed of shipment status

• Secures shipment and carrier documentation (bills of lading, PODs, etc.)

• Other duties as assigned

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong understanding of US Geography

• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills

• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Works well in a team environment

Physical Requirements

• Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment

• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED/Bachelor’s degree preferred

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

• Professional certification may be required in some areas.
