Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients across various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
• Verify patient demographic information and label specimens accurately in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following all safety and procedural guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing.
• Communicate confidently with patients, explaining procedures to foster trust and confidence.
• Ensure a safe and professional environment at all times.
• Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties as assigned.
• Adhere to organizational policies, dress code, safety protocols, and confidentiality standards.
• Assist with multiple priorities in high-volume settings and support coverage across various locations as needed.

Required Skills

• Strong phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in keyboard/data entry.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver license with a clean driving record, if applicable.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.
• Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is a plus.
• Candidate must have their own reliable transportation and reside within 20-25 minutes of the worksite.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
• Must demonstrate a commitment to safety, confidentiality, and process excellence.
