Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Charge NurseMinimum experience: 1 year; 1st timers are accepted, charge nurse experience preferred. Patient population: Adults to geriatrics. Certifications required: BLS required. General skills and work setting requirements: Patient diagnoses include all potential med surg diagnoses; skills and knowledge required include isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, nasal cannula, high flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, starting IVs, PICC line management, blood product administration, feeding tube care and management. Ratio/census: 1:6; 32 rooms with average daily census of 29. Unit systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR. Scrub color: Navy blue. RTO: MAX 7 days. RTO blackout dates: Spring break (April 4th-12th). Weekends: Every other weekend unless specified elsewhere. Floating: Yes, within facility/scope of practice as needed. Call requirements: None. Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays are listed below: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Years Eve/New Years Day.
