Accounting Clerk (Full-Time)

Mahal Bros Transport Inc is seeking a qualified and experienced Accounting Clerk to oversee the company’s full accounting operations. This is a full-time, in-office position for a self-directed professional capable of managing all accounting functions independently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and accountability.

Position Summary

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for the complete accounting cycle and overall financial management of the organization. The successful candidate will be hands-on, highly organized, and able to meet deadlines consistently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting operations
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Process payroll and ensure timely remittances
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
• Maintain general ledger and supporting schedules
• Coordinate tax filings and liaise with external accountants and auditors
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Provide financial reports and insights to management as required

Performance Expectations

• Monthly financial statements prepared accurately and delivered on time
• All reconciliations completed and reviewed within established reporting deadlines
• Vendors paid accurately and on time in accordance with agreed payment terms
• Customer invoices issued promptly and collections managed to ensure timely receipt of payments
• Maintain accurate aging reports for both accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Payroll processed accurately and on schedule with zero missed remittances
• Maintain clean, well-documented accounting records at all times
• Proactively identify discrepancies, risks, or inefficiencies and recommend solutions
• Demonstrate consistent accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
• Operate independently with minimal oversight while meeting company deadlines
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all financial matters

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of progressive accounting experience and/or a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting principles and practices
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong analytical, time-management, and problem-solving skills
• Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is considered an asset
