Director of Housekeeping

SkyBridge Luxury is conducting a search for a Director of Housekeeping for a luxury boutique hotel in Washington, D.C. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, hands-on Housekeeping leader who is ready to take the next step into a Director-level position. The property is non-union and offers an environment where the Director can have a visible impact on departmental culture, cleanliness standards, guest satisfaction, and team performance. The Director of Housekeeping will oversee a team of approximately 35 employees and will be expected to maintain a strong presence throughout the hotel. This role is best suited for a leader who enjoys being in the operation—inspecting guestrooms and public areas, coaching employees, reinforcing standards, addressing performance issues, and creating consistency across the department. The broader luxury brand continues to expand nationally and internationally , with several new properties in development. Key Responsibilities Lead the daily Housekeeping operation for a luxury boutique hotel in Washington, D.C. Oversee, coach, develop, and motivate a team of approximately 35 employees . Maintain a highly visible, hands‑on leadership presence throughout the property. Conduct detailed inspections of guestrooms, suites, corridors, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces. Drive improvements in cleanliness scores, guest satisfaction scores, service scores, and quality‑assurance results . Reinforce established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) , inspection standards, cleaning procedures, and luxury service expectations. Ensure departmental standards are consistently understood and executed by the entire team. Support and reinforce Forbes Travel Guide service and cleanliness standards . Use guest feedback, inspection results, and performance metrics to identify trends and implement corrective action. Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and develop Housekeeping leaders and frontline employees. Create a culture of accountability, pride, professionalism, and teamwork. Partner closely with Front Office and Engineering to ensure guestrooms are properly maintained and guest‑ready. Manage labor, productivity, staffing levels, departmental expenses, inventory, purchasing, and operating supplies. Maintain appropriate linen, amenity, guest supply, and cleaning product par levels. Lead deep‑cleaning initiatives, room‑condition programs, and departmental improvement projects. Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and workplace standards. Background & Qualifications Bilingual English and Spanish is required. Previous leadership experience within a luxury hotel Housekeeping operation . Strong candidates may currently be working as an Assistant Director of Housekeeping, Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Manager, or similar senior Housekeeping leader and be ready for their first Director opportunity. Experience supervising and developing sizeable Housekeeping teams; experience leading 30+ employees preferred. Strong familiarity with hotel SOPs, inspection programs, cleanliness standards, and quality‑assurance processes . Experience actively driving cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and service scores . Familiarity with Forbes Travel Guide standards and luxury service expectations. Strong understanding of guestrooms, public‑area cleanliness, room inspections, productivity standards, inventory controls, and departmental cost management. Confident leadership presence with the ability to set expectations, coach performance, make decisions, and hold employees accountable. Must be comfortable providing direct feedback and addressing performance issues when necessary. Highly detail‑oriented with strong standards for cleanliness, presentation, organization, and physical condition. Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Experience with hotel operating systems and Microsoft Office preferred. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred, but relevant luxury hotel leadership experience will be strongly considered.
